01. Structural steels
Characteristics
These are a set of steels designed for constructing building structures, machinery components, civil construction, etc. and notable among their properties are high strength, high ductility and good weldability.

02. Low alloy (microalloyed) high yield strength steels
Characteristics
These steels are micro-alloyed, fine-grained, with low carbon content and addition of microalloying elements which give the steel the necessary properties to achieve high yield strengths.
They are steels with good formability and are suitable for welding.

03. Abrasion resistant and anti-wear steels
Characteristics
Abrasion and impact resistant steels are hardened steels and, due to their high hardness and excellent mechanical properties, they enable the useful life of equipment to be extended.
Grades
Each manufacturer has its own design for abrasion resistant and anti-wear steels, therefore a prior consultation is necessary due to the particularities of each brand.

04. Low carbon content hot rolled steels for cold forming (drawing steels)
Characteristics
These are steels for forming applications and are intended for medium to deep drawing, they also have good bending properties, weldability and high elongation.

EN-10111 Continuously hot rolled low carbon steel strip for cold forming.
DD11, DD12, DD13, DD14
05. Steels for quenching and tempering (boron steels)
Characteristics
Alloyed steel with a low percentage of boron which provides high hardenability. It is a soft steel in the supplied condition, so it provides excellent formability before hardening and high wear resistance properties after thermal treatment.

06. EN-10025-5 Structural steels with improved atmospheric corrosion resistance (Corten steel).
Characteristics
Due to their chemical composition, these steels are suitable for work in corrosive environments. Their selected chemical content enables them to withstand different environmental impacts. Due to their composition, they form a patina on the surface which blocks or slows the appearance of corrosion.

07. High carbon content steels
Characteristics
These are steels with a carbon content greater than 0.32%, which makes them highly suitable for thermal hardening treatment to give high hardness.
Their application is in agricultural machinery, tools, etc.

08. Steels for pressure vessels and boilers
Characteristics
The main characteristic of these steels is their capacity to withstand pressures at high, medium and low temperatures.
They have good weldability, excellent resilience and good forming capability.
They are suitable for normalising and annealing treatments for stress relief (treatments that neutralise the local hardening produced after welding).

09. Hot rolled steels with anti-slip relief
Characteristics
These steels have a surface relief in the form of grooves or teardrops which gives them anti-slip properties when dry, greasy or wet.
Anti-slip steels are extremely hard wearing and impact resistant.

The standard covers all structural steel grades: EN-10025-2, EN-10025-3, EN-10025-4, and EN-10025-5
10. Industrial steel for laser cutting
Characteristics
These are steels hot rolled by discontinuous process, with high thicknesses and specially treated for laser cutting.
We have plates with thicknesses from 30 mm to 50 mm and formats up to 2000 mm in width and 8000 mm maximum length.
Grades
The industrial steel for laser cutting is manufactured in practically all the grades, therefore it is advisable to consult us in advance, although the most common grades are those listed in standard EN-10025-2.
High Thickness
To further enhance our offering in this product area, we have added industrial plates up to 50mm thick, suitable for laser cutting, with an improved surface finish.
This joins our range of hot rolled and pickled steel from coil, where we currently process up to 25 mm in thickness and up to 2000 mm in width.

High Yield (HY) Strength steels
At Aceros Ormazabal, we want to highlight our high yield strength steels: that is, steels of a grade higher than S500 N/mm2 and up to S960 by standard or higher and up to 1500 mpa according to manufacturer’s certification.
High yield strength steels are those that have a high capacity to withstand forces without permanently deforming. Their mechanical properties are greater than other steels.
Thanks to these characteristics, thinner steel parts can be designed and manufactured that are stronger and lighter.

Green Steel
At Aceros Ormazabal, we work with our suppliers in order to make what is called green steel available to our customers. Green steel is produced by reducing CO2 emissions to a minimum thanks to the use of renewable energies.
